PRESENTATION

The Núcleo de Pesquisa Formação, Educação, Trabalho e Políticas Públicas (NUP FETPP) is a multidisciplinary academic space linked to the Departmento de Serviço Social and the Programa de Pós-graduação em Políticas Públicas in the Culture, Identity, and Social Processes stuline, at the Centro de Ciencias Humanas e Letras of the Universidade Federal do Piauí, UFPI. It also includes researchers from other areas of knowledge from this and other universities, as well as Research Centers affiliated with this university or other national and international universities. NUP FETPP has been active since March 2020; however, its institutionalization at UFPI occurred in 2021 through Ordinance No. 21/2021 - CCHL, dated March 8, 2021, under the coordination of Prof. Edna Maria Goulart Joazeiro, Departmento de Serviço Social and the Programa de Pós-graduação em Politicas Públicas at UFPI, with the Sub-coordination of Prof. Dr. Romina Julieta Sanches Paradiso de Oliveira, Departamento de Ciências Econômicas.

The ongoing transformations in modern society and the world of work have led to significant changes in forms of "primary and secondary sociability" (Castel, 1988) and public social policies. This multiplicity of dimensions unavoidably marks the fabric of social reality and has relations and implications on the social question, experienced by populations subjected to situations of social vulnerabilities "resulting from poverty, and/or weakening of affective - relational bonds and social belonging" (Brazil, 2004, p. 33). The production of the NUP FETPP analyzes the social question as a result of "inequality in the class society of mature capitalism" (IAMAMOTO, 2001, p. 16).

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The general objective of the NUP FETPP is to establish itself as an academic-scientific space aimed at strengthening the production of knowledge through research, study, organization, and promotion of scientific events, workshops, and the establishment of national and international exchange relationships within the scope of teaching, research, innovation, extension, and continuing education.
